Greg Cutcliff has been our HRSS piper for a number of years. He has brought skills and knowledge of the Great Highland Bagpipes to the Tullahoma area where he not only leads in parades and special events but teaches the bagpipes to local students weekly. Greg has played the bagpipes for over 25 years. In 1996 when he and his family moved to Tennessee, Greg joined the Nashville Pipes and Drums and later was asked to Drum Major. Greg is frequently asked to lead the Massed Bands at a number of Highland Games across the southeast and has been the Official Drum Major of the Glasgow Highland Games for the past 7 years.
Greg has appeared with Rod Stewart, Amy Grant, the Chieftans, Martina McBride, the Nashville Symphony, Michael W. Smith, at opening of a Billy Graham Crusades, closing ceremonies of the Sara Lee Golf Classic, and at the Amy Grant & Vince Gill wedding [as viewed on the CNN Larry King Live interview of Amy and Vince].
Greg has recorded with Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith [Dove Award winning Song of the Year 2000, "This Is Your Time" and he played on the Dove Awards show itself], Englebert Humperdink, Melody Guy, and Diane DiStasio to name a few.
Greg is the official piper for the Almaville Volunteer Fire Department, an Associate Member Fraternal Order of Police, a Mason, a member of Eastern Star, Honorary member of the VFW, and 10th Mountain Division, U.S. Army.
Greg wears his family tartan, Montgomery, for private engagements and wears the Ancient Robertson tartan with Nashville Pipes and Drums in honor of James Robertson, founder of Nashville.
Greg shares his talent through private parties, family reunions, church services, funerals, weddings, and other special engagements. Greg is humbly grateful to have “the honor to participate and play the pipes” and has endeared himself to persons, families, and organizations all across our area.
HRSS is proud to have Greg on our team!!!
